In light of Hurricane Irma Cliff Wyatt, owner of Clearwater’s Florida Coastal Insurance Agency will talk about “Insuring Your Boats”…what you may not know.” He is a boat owner and specializes in boat insurance. He can tell you things you do not know about your boat insurance.
The second speaker is Captain Bob Myers with Intra Coastal Transit Group who is involved with Marine Transit Development. He has been involved with the Ferry Services in downtown St Pete, Madeira Beach and other venues along our Intracoastal Waterway.
New members are welcome.

Donate a couple hours of your morning to clean up our local islands and waterways. We need volunteers and boats!
It’s the Boat Club’s ninth annual farewell to summer . Plan to party hearty until after sunset on the small island at the north end of IRB. This is one of the biggest Boat Club bashes of the year and draws about 100 folks…so get there early for prime anchoring position. A community grill and paper products will be provided; bring a dish to share, your own refreshments and meat/seafood to grill. Those who want to can anchor off the island and spend the night.

For our first meeting of the New Year our guest speaker, from Eckerd College, is Lara Milligan. She will be speaking about microplastics in the ocean.
Recently, students from Eckerd College sailed aboard a Florida Institute of Oceanography (FIO) vessel as part of their Oceanography class. Students sample the water, sediments, and large and small organisms that live in Tampa Bay. She will be talking about their findings.
Happy Hour is 6-7pm with the meeting beginning at 7pm. As usual, Jimmy Guana’s will provided free appetizers, but you may also ordered dinner during the meeting. New Members are welcome!

The Boat Club goes to Island Way Grill on Island Estates to indulge in their fabulous Sunday afternoon brunch. They have several floating docks. We normally sit together outside on the south patio. The cost is $23 per person and includes a free mimosa.
This is always our most popular event and starts with champagne and bloody Mary’s and oh so much food then ends with a visit to the dessert room. If you have never been there for Sunday Brunch, it is a must do. See photos of all the fun we have had at this brunch on our Photo page.
You MUST RSVP for this event – by phone at (727) 430-8300 or via e-mail: IRBboatclub@gmail.com
